Arbitration

SCHAEMANN LAW OFFICES provides advice and representation for German and foreign clients in German and international arbitration processes.

We have drafted and negotiated numerous arbitration agreements and contracts. Our primary goal in drafting arbitration agreements is always to tailor them to the particular interests of our client. Whether the parties agree on ad hoc or institutional proceedings, the rules of the arbitration, the jurisdiction of the arbitration tribunal, the procedure for appointing arbitrators etc. can never be answered in a single step. We offer our clients individual solutions catering to their needs.

We conduct arbitration under all established procedural regimes and ad hoc, both in German and English. We are familiar with the procedural particularities of arbitration, including those with international relevance, and have participated in such proceedings both in and outside Europe.

Our lawyers do not only act as party representatives. They also have pertinent experience as arbitrators, whether appointed by a party or - as chairman - by arbitration institutions. Dr. Joern Schaemann is author of the book Schiedsgerichte unter Staatlicher Kontrolle (Arbitration under State Control), Frankfurt, 2001 und co-author of The International Comparative Legal Guide to International Arbitration 2004, London, 2004.
